Kaleidoscope is made of approximately 6000 candy wrappers found on sidewalks, in parks and many public spaces over the course of ten months. Each wrapper is tied with thread into floor to ceiling strands transforming them into a shimmering fluttering kaleidoscope of butterflies.

Kaleidoscope was temporarily sited in this former ceramics factory in Nove Italy. With perfectly positioned existing metal rod, and by adding a few cross bars, I was able to redefine the space with ephemeral room-like walls.

With very little material mass I am able to create a powerful and encompassing work. This image shows how I have accentuated the height of the architectural space.

Each individual wrapper wafts with every air movement, the colors are vivid and take up much visual space, however ephemeral and airy this piece is.
